Benefits of Yoga

Yoga is a tried and true method for developing a greater sense of well‑being. The whole person is addressed in a yoga class. You will become aware of all the systems in your body and mind (muscular-skeletal, circulatory, glandular, emotional, nervous, etc.), strengthening and toning these areas through the many different yoga postures. Since the body is a network of systems all relating to each other, addressing one area of the body can often affect another area. For example, lower back pain might be traced to a neck imbalance; or knee pain could be caused by stiffness in the hips. In addition to the postures, intro to yoga class teaches you to observe your breath in and out of the yoga class. Learning to manipulate your breath when needed (ie, in times of stress or fatigue) can make you feel better.
